Crazy Running of Northern Virginia
Our program is designed to help develop coordination and athleticism in young kids. No matter what sport your kids are getting ready for, running can get them in great condition and help them become balanced, well-rounded athletes. We teach the fundamentals using structured practices, form drills, running specific exercises, and running specific plyometrics. We believe in teaching kids to run correctly, being challenged aerobically each practice, and having fun with running games designed to bring out the competitive spirit.
Tykes; Ages 3-5: Our Tykes are working on building coordination, stamina and focus all while playing FUN Crazy Running games!
JR Crazy Runners; Ages 5-7: We focus on getting kids moving and making exercise fun! Runners will be introduced to simple strength exercises, fundamental running techniques, and play games that provide a kid-friendly cardio workout!
Upperclassmen Crazy Runners; Ages 8-14: These young runners will be challenged based on their ability; this program is appropriate for the beginning runner or a young athlete who has finished lots of races! The 8 weeks of training teach the qualities of “what it takes” to be a good runner and athlete: goals and determination, endurance, strength, speed, flexibility, & good nutrition.
Teen Crazy Runners; Ages 13-17: Our teen Crazy Runners are learning more about structured training. Our Crazy Running Teen workouts are perfect for 13-17 year olds who would like a fun, social way to get fit and move. Workouts will include some running, general strength work, mobility and flexibility. Crazy Running Teen workouts will have an emphasis on getting a great cardio and strength workout while having fun together. Workouts will be appropriate for any teenager, no running experience required!
Youth Programs
Winter Conditioning
Crazy Running – Winter Conditioning, one of our most popular training sessions, 8-weeks of endurance, strength and speed development for youth ages 5 – 14. Sixty-minute workouts are designed and led by a USA Track and Field certified coach. Workouts include running, stretching, strength training, running form work, plyometrics, speed development and more! The Crazy Running program motivates, encourages, and challenges young athletes to push themselves, improve their fitness and develop their athletic ability. We find that athletes do benefit from participating one day per week, but find that the athletes that participate more than one day per week grow more athletically. Crazy Running Winter Conditioning will help the young athlete: be more prepared for spring sports, increase speed and endurance, improve core strength, increase overall fitness in the off-season, become a stronger athlete! Play Crazy, Run Hard!

Will Triplett
will@crazyrunning.com
When Will Triplett crossed the finish line of the Marine Corps Marathon, he felt a sense of unspoken pride and dedication. Will faced many challenges in his 20 years as a Navy Chief but running saw him through it all. What started as a simple activity to stay in shape for physical readiness tests and blow off steam, turned into a great passion. Will fell in love with running at a very young age and has since successfully participated in numerous marathons and shorter distance races; more recently he picked up coaching and started Willpower Athletes. He is very passionate about bringing a sense of fun to the game and has a special ability to connect with people of all ages and ability levels. While working as a business owner and a college professor, he believes in a slow progression and constant communication between coach and athlete. Becoming fit is not just physical, it is mental. If you can condition your mind, you can condition your body. As a coach, I feel it is my job to help people break down physical and mental barriers so individuals can run the race of their lives. My favorite thing about coaching is to unconditionally support runners and their journeys. To ultimately help athletes understand not only the physical training side of running but the mental approach to running and having a mindset to support the ups and downs of running. Will loves working with athletes of all experiences no matter what they are training for. He retains faculty appointments at the University Maryland Global Campus and the University of Arizona. In his free time, Will enjoys running, cycling, going to the beach, traveling, investing, and spending quality time with his wife.
Coaching Philosophy
My coaching philosophy is: I am a firm believer that if you have knowledge pass it on to those who do not have it. I also believe that playing sports as a child not only builds character and confidence but also gives a sense of accomplishment. It also prepares children for life, teaching them about working as a team or as a team player, not as an individual.
