Winter Conditioning
Crazy Running’s Winter Conditioning includes weeks of endurance, strength and speed development for youth ages 3 – 14. Sixty-minute workouts include running, stretching, strength training, running form work, plyometrics, speed development and more! The Crazy Running program motivates, encourages, and challenges young athletes to push themselves, improve their fitness and develop their athletic ability. We find that athletes do benefit from participating one day per week, but find that the athletes that participate more than one day per week grow more athletically. Crazy Running Winter Conditioning will help the young athlete: be more prepared for spring sports, increase speed and endurance, improve core strength, increase overall fitness in the off-season, become a stronger athlete! Play Crazy, Run Hard!

Spring Training
Our program is designed to help develop coordination and athleticism in young kids. No matter what sport your kids are getting ready for, running can get them in great condition and help them become balanced, well-rounded athletes. We teach the fundamentals using structured practices, form drills, running specific exercises, and running specific plyometrics. We believe in teaching kids to run correctly, being challenged aerobically each practice, and having fun with running games designed to bring out the competitive spirit.
This fun, challenging training program will prepare Tykes (3-4 year olds), Juniors (5 – 7 year olds), Upperclassmen (8 – 10 year olds) and Teenz (11 – 15 year olds) to compete in our season ending Crazy Kz Kidz Race!

Instead of focusing on increasing distance, we prefer the focus to be a child competing to the best of their ability. Encouraging kids to give their best, never give up, and always set big goals is what we are all about!

Summer
Our summer season is designed for families on the go! We understand that summer schedules can get busy, which is why we offer flexible programming to keep kids active and engaged, away from screens. Our summer sessions take place multiple days each week, allowing for a fun and energetic way to stay fit. With our virtual punch card, you can choose the number of practices that fit your schedule, ensuring that your child can participate as much or as little as you need. If you’re sticking around Greensboro all summer, we’d love to have you join us for every practice!
Summer Speedsters + Summer Track & Field
For the first five weeks of Crazy Running Greensboro’s Summer, we’re excited to offer our Summer Speedsters program, designed to help kids prepare for a fast mile or 5k at the Fun Fourth Freedom Run! We will focus on both conditioning and speed development. Each practice will follow a similar structure with a warmup run, form running drills, a workout, a cool down run, and stretches. Our workouts include lots of running, plyometrics, sprints, agility drills, and hills. As with all our Crazy Running programs we disguise our workouts with fun games and team challenges.
In the second half of the summer, we’ll dive into Track & Field! This program is all about introducing young athletes to the fundamentals of Track & Field, including jumps, throws, hurdles, sprints, and distance events. Athletes will be running, sprinting, jumping, bounding, stretching, and working on speed development, endurance, form drills, and strength exercises. It’s great exercise, awesome conditioning, and a crazy fun way to build speed and agility! Our season will end with our Kidz Track Meet!

Elite Summer Training
In the elite group, our emphasis is on giving young people the tools they need to be successful endurance athletes. This group of athletes are all looking to improve, share a love for running and working hard at practice. Athletes will learn running form and dynamic mobility drills, as well as strength and dynamic flexibility work. We’ll also sprinkle in elements of track & field too! This isn’t just about cross country – it’s about boosting your child’s athleticism in all sports. We’re here to guide and encourage young athletes on how to effectively incorporate these new skills into their routines. Our goal is to build strong, fast, coordinated, healthy and knowledgeable athletes. We highly recommend these athletes be ready for this group so no one gets discouraged and come ready to Play Crazy, Run Hard!
This program is a step above our general programs! The elite curriculum is crafted by Coach Donnie Cowart from Winston-Salem, a Division 1 All-American and sub-4:00 miler, and infuses his 20+ years of competitive running expertise while maintaining the Crazy Running FUN. With Coach Karyssa’s enthusiasm and support, young athletes have a fantastic chance to shine and reach new heights!

About Us
Coach Karyssa
I grew up with a love for sports and have always been involved in some form of athletics! Though I didn’t fall in love with running until adulthood, I’m so glad I did! From establishing a run club in my area to coaching with Crazy Running, it’s safe to say it’s my favorite sport now. Before becoming a homeschool mom, I spent years working in the classroom and with children with differing abilities. I’ve always been passionate about advocating for children to have more time outdoors and time to move their bodies to benefit their overall health!
You can find me forever training for the next race on the horizon! I love the process of training for a tough event and love the challenge of keeping it fun. In my downtime, I enjoy hanging with my husband, son, and our dogs – typically near a body of water, at a sporting event, or in the woods.
